Intel denies Corei5 MacBook prize claims

Intel has rejected yesterday’s reports claiming imminent release of new Core i5 MacBook Pros.

As reported by Spanish site Faq-Mac.com, an Intel promotion suggested Apple to be on the cusp of releasing new Core i5 MacBooks.  The advert said that two winners would recieve MacBook Pros with the new Core i5 processors.

Ths just ain’t so, Intel claimed. The Mac prizes were meant to be HP laptops and a communication problem between Intel’s marketing and other departments caused the slip, the company explained.

Intel apologized for the mistake and the confusion it created and has now modified the artwork for the promotion, which was available in several countries to reflect the "new" HP laptop model available.

So, if Apple releases new Core i5 MacBook Pros this month, act surprised, OK?

Wow THAT is an error :D

True or not, i5s are coming...

And the use of a Macbook pic? naaa its a lame excuse for a horrible mistake and i guess someone is fired now

LMAO! Who actually believes that they not only had the wrong artwork but also SAID Macbook Pro? Anyone? Anyone without a brain? Nope, didn't think so. Ooo I wish I could have been a fly in Steve's office for this one. Anyone want to take bets on how many people got fired? I have $20 on 3. Anyone? lol

What happens when the winner gets their HP book and sends it back because they wanted a MacBook Pro? Almost anything from HP is a step down.
