OK, Jailbreaking a 1.1.3 iPhone just got stupid easy
This is even easier than jailbreakme.com on 1.02 - 1.1.1. Basically follow these instructions:
- If you don't have a 1.1.3 iPhone, upgrade to 1.1.3 using iTunes. If you do, skip to step 2
- Download and unzip the new iJailbreak
- Quit iTunes and run iJailbreak with your iPhone plugged in (in normal, not recovery mode)
- Choose Jailbreak, then choose to either jailbreak it alone or also unlock for other sim cards.
- Wait 2 minutes - grab a coffee, use the bathroom etc. Done!
If there are any issues, re-restore to 1.1.3 using iTunes. This has happened 1 out of 10 times we've tried, the others were successful. It's so easy, a thirteen year old can do it - actually - two thirteen year olds built the application!
Edit: for all of the people who say they have a 1.x.x iPhone that is jailbroke/not jailbroke with xxx firmware and XXX Baseband...IT WORKS FOR EVERY IPHONE EVER MADE! Yours isn't special unless you've done hardware mods - which is like 4 people. If you are on Tiger however, wait a few hours/days until the Tiger version of this application comes out.

Does this work with iPod touches also?
Hey I'm not as big a nerd as some of you, but I have an iPhone. Why would I want to jailbreak it? What would be the purpose in doing so? How could it benefit me? What added programs could I add that I dont have already? If someone can answer these questions for me I will surely jailbreak my phone and get with the program.
let me tell you why its so usefull, the US, has a lot of iphone users, but, the same side of the world, in latin america, for example.. there are millions of people who would love to have it working too, like you as well.. so, thats why so usefull.. for those who cannot use it with the at&t conection.. i think the only good think that this jailbreak would give you is just the ability to install some cool apps to your iphone, such as games, and allowing the iphone for other uses wich are not aproved by apple, so you get your choices above the manufacturer!
Holy crap! That was simple.
No iPod touch, by the way. Says so right on their website.
While it was scary to look at all that was going on on the iphones screen while unlocking, it really worked!
It works right now with a german eplus-sim-card!
Thanx guys
If you have the 3.9 Bootlegger, unlocking is also stupid easy. Go to Installer and run anySIM 1.3. Done! Jailbroken and unlocked.
Opps. Bootloader, not "bootlegger" : )
Sorry if I'm missing the point, but is it "safe" to restore my soft-upgraded 1.1.3 to an "official" 1.1.3 in iTunes?
Also, will this new iJailbreak method "activate" my iPhone? (I'm using it outside the US with a local carrier in my country so can't do the regular AT & T activation).
I'm pretty sure this is what is meant when the app's website claims it will "unlock", but I'd like to confirm just in case it actually means it will unlock for any SIM WITHOUT actually activating too.
Other than that, the most SINCERE thanks to the folks responsible!
Will this work on UK iPhones (ie. ones with a later bootloader (I think)) - if yes, I'm off to buy one now
Yes, this works on all UK iPhones, from the 1st one to the one you bought yestersday. Early UK iPhones come with firmware 1.1.2 OTB, baseband 04.02.13_G (this is modem software). Latest iPhones, those you can buy from the Apple Store now come with firmware 1.1.3 OTB, baseband 04.03.13_G. Both firmware and baseband are upgraded from the original unit. All official UK iPhones comes with bootloader 4.6. About a week ago, GeoHot found a way to hack into the security layer of bootloader 4.6, enabling the succesful hacking of the latest baseband software. This enable the completely software-based unlocking of latest iPhones and all UK iPhones. Zibri incorporated GeoHot's tool (GUnlock), with other useful tools and tricks and packaged it into a nice user-friendly single program called ZiPhone. iJailBreak simply incorporated the latest trick in the ZiPhone 1/2, which borrows the critical unlocking tools from Geohot. So, for UK official O2 users specifically: iJailBreak works on all UK iPhones, this including earlier ones, earlier ones officially upgraded to 1.1.3 firmware with iTunes, or the latest iPhone from the Apple Store. All works. Enjoy...
Is it possible, that I don´t use ist at Windows XP OS? Do I need an Mac OS? I don´t see any executable file in the zip?
Ingo, for Windows users, simply use ZiPhone 2.0, from www.ziphone.org/2008/02/ziphone-20-game-over.htmlThis is a mac-centric forum so iJailBreak is being discussed first.
basically I have an OTB 1.0.2 iPhone I got in America a few months ago. Its unlocked and I'm using it on tmobile in the uk. How do I upgrade to 1.1.3 to jailbreak? If I do it through iTunes it will brick the phone no?
Cheers guys
You gotta have faith (balls).
Upgrade it using iTunes to 1.1.3
then iJailbreak it again.
If it bricks it, you'll be the 1st
dont know what to say... it worked! thanks for giving me balls haha
anyone who is unsure- it works. TRUST ME.
wow, technology right?
I upgraded to 1.1.3 from 1.1.1 and when and never got the Activation Screen on the iPhone, also when I connect to iTunes it tells me I have an incorrect Sim. I also can't enter proper recovery mode, I get a version that has a slide for emergency as well. Is there a third party app I can blitz my phone with.
iJailbreak won't run as it says:
cp: Apps/iJailBreak.app/Contents/Resources/libreadline.5.2.dylib: No such file or directory
cp: /Applications/iPhone: No such file or directory (1)
ahhh....!!!
Fix!!
We fixed the above issue by doing a 1.1.3 restore and a different Mac.
phew.
Hi there! I have an updated 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 (Modem Firmware 04.01.13_G)It´s ok to update to 1.1.3, and then jailbreak/unlock with this app?Tnx!
yes. EVERYONE WHO HAS AN IPHONE CAN UPDATE TO 1.1.3 and jailbreak.
no, you aren't special.
I have an unlocked 1.1.2 OTB iPhone (using GeoHotz method) with 1.1.2 firmware. Am I good to go? Should I re-unlock it or just jailbreak so it will remain unlocked?
Pipe, when u upgrade your geohotz unlocked otb 1.1.2 iPhone via iTunes to 1.1.3, the following things will be done to your iphone:
1. Firmware upgraded to 1.1.3
2. Baseband upgraded to 4.03.13
3. Your OTB bootloader 4.6, downgraded to 3.9 by GeoHotz, will remain the same as 3.9. iTune upgrade will not touch your bootloader.
Just run the iJailBreak as instructed above in Tiger or Leopard, or ZiPhone 2.0 as instructed in the earlier posts.
Hope this helps.
Yeah it helps, thank you anonymous coward...
lol
Let's assume I buy a NEW iPhone in the US. Bring it over to Europe (Switzerland to be specific).
Questions:
- can I upgrade to 1.1.3 WITHOUT ACTIVATION?
- do I have to jailbreak it once, then update and THEN jailbreak 1.1.3?
I guess that if I purchase one right now it is going to have 1.1.3.
Sorry for the many questions, but it is of outmost importance (at least to me) to receive these answers.
One question more:
-I have an Orange (Switzerland) SIM card (the higher capacity ones), will the unlock work also on that SIM?
I'd be happy if somebody with lots of patience could advise me about how to best procede, from the moment I buy it to the moment I jailbreak it (according to the easy and understandable instructions...).
Thanks in advance.
Furthermore:
- will I have to fear that at every update the phone gets locked again?
Alert: This does not work on Tiger!
If you look on their web page it is updated as such:
ijailbreak.com
How does this affect IPSF unlocked iPhones? Will IPSF stay, or will I need to re-unlock?
Works great! Wow that was easy. I do have to say that my youtube button does not work now but I never used that in the first place. The bookmarked sites on youtube work fine but searching does not work. Did this happen to everyone?
hii
