No word yet on what build 7C97D fixes (or breaks). We're hoping not to lose our tether.

Update: Baseband update to 05.08.01 (so if you want to do a SIM unlock in the future, you might want to wait).  Also tether and MMS working (mms enabled by default but still issues with AT&T).  Startup/Shutdown times dramatically improved, though some people are reporting issues with iTunes playback.  Some screenshots also posted to the comments below.

Do you still need to be an registered iPhone-dev to use this one?
Thinking about the UID-thingy... (or whatever it's called)

Tethering and MMS are still working

,,,also:

didn't they just release the 3.0 software? 3.1 already? wow. . .

3.0 is really buggy, just so that you know. There are many issues relating to the homescreen icons, charging iPhones on external batteries and some reported overheating.

What's the Carrier menu for? I don't see it and I have the 3.1 beta.

What's Carrier for in the screen shot? I have the 3.1 Beta and that doesn't appear

Did startup times get shorter, as in dramatically "improve" or get longer, as in "substantially increase" as the article says?

Why is there a carrier menu thingy? and what do you mean startup/shutdown times increase dramatically? As in its improved or worse?

The startup / shutdown time is really fast now, took me 40 seconds to shutdown and boot back up.

Re: Carrier Menu

AFAIK, Carrier Menu is shown normally unless you used the Tethering hack, which uses carrier-testing mode. When in carrier-testing mode, the Carrier Menu is not displayed. Instead, the Cellular Data Network Settings are expanded to allow for manual configuration.

Its actually good news. I have another one for the developers. I found a site - http://iphoneappcoder.com/. They work as a bridge between the entrepreneurs and app developers. You can chk this out.
