iPhone Video hopes aren't dead yet...
Engadget spied a certain strange typo in the iPhone 3.0 development kit. Apple, who we know doesn't yet want video capabilities on the iPhone, forgot about that for a second and looks to have a screen to upload video to your MobileMe account. Perhaps this is the reason that Apple hasn't allowed the awesome Qik application to get accepted on the iPhone. Will Apple let third party video applications like Qik on the iPhone or will this be another MobileMe-only feature? We hope the former.
Oh, and you can choose between Chicago and New York...

I think it is pretty obvious if you go back and watch the keynote that there were obvious gaps in the announcements. I assume they are just holding those back to show it off on the new iPhone hardware. Video is one of these. Why have live streaming in the SDK if you can't record it?
Obviously, this is a feature that requires new hardware, which will be released in June to give people whose original 2 year contracts are about to expire a reason to re-up.
Actually I have seen QIK with FULL video capabilities on "Hacked" iphones. So YES you can do video already on the iPhone via the Camera. Just need the right programs, which are not found on the Apps Store.
But trust me my "FRIEND" does it on his iPhone already.
=)
what about the youtube integration in the new SDK. seems with them now allowing accounts and such that the ability to upload straight to youtube is in the works. maybe.
What is up with Apple not allowing skinning on their mobile devices?
See, I want the iphone 3.0 to be a monster device that has multi-tasking, video and the kitchen sink. But I also want it to APPEAR to be better than WebOS. I guess the thing is the Apple mobile GUI (the non-jailbroken one) is getting pretty dang boring to me. I would like official support from Apple for the skinning of the GUI including wallpaper and icons.
Its not a damn phone its a mobile computer...my computer. I want to personalize my computer the way I want to.
Sorry for going off topic but I think this is all related to how we're going to receive the iphone 3.0 .
Probably just me but I stopped skinning my OS about 10 years ago.
Please stfu and go get yourself a winblows mobile device. Frickin' tool.
So your saying that all the jailbreakers out there are tools?
I don't understand you.
The part that is really worrying to me (in terms of Palm viability) is that Palm seems to be focused merely on having an answer to the iPhone's perceived limitations. And Windows Mobile and BlackBerry and the G1 are doing the same exact thing. To me, it looks like the Pre is only going after iPhone, and is completely ignoring the fact that there are several other major players to compete against.
Pre might end up being awesome. But with deep and broad competition in the segment, Palm has a huge, make-or-break uphill battle in front of it.
You are right. There are several things that could have been much better with the Palm Pre. Namely, while the software is impressive the hardware isn't.
I'm just hoping the incredible pressure Palm is under is going to force it not to make any more stupid decisions. The stockholders should hold an emergency meeting and name Jon Rubenstein the new CEO of Palm. Because it would be nice if Apple has some real competition that way Apple is forced to keep on their toes and not strut around like they are some sort of kings while spoon feeding us updates every two years.
Two freaking years for copy and paste and a landscaping keyboard. Don't tell me that Apple didn't hold back those updates on purpose!
But, whatever happens...happens.
haha, might be because apple doesnt want your shit theme making its product look bad to other people.

i guess.
I've heard from some of my sources that the new iPhone will be released at the same time as the 3.0 software will be released. This would be around the WWDC time. I also heard that "something NEW" is coming...possibly a tablet?
Part of the reason I moved completely to Apple was they have more of a sense of social responsibility that Microsoft. Accordingly, I thought it would be important to have video recording so that people could record what they see and let us all know what is really going on in the world without editing. For example, if everyone had iPhones we would not have the recording of the shooting by the BART police.
Still hesitant at which buy wow gold ? wowspa.com you are the best choice, it can provide for players cheap wow gold and wow power leveling , let you enjoy the Games bring you pleasure!
It makes financial sense to provide a video recording app that exports to MobileMe so as to increase subscribers to Apple's service. Though I do hope Apple will consider adding the option for export to the ever so popular YouTube.
I'm starting to get a feeling that Apple might finally do with the iPhone what they have should done for at least a year, make phone for the world not a phone for the US.
They should be adding HSDPA+ chipsets for 7 MBPS+ mobile internet connections and a 802.11n chipset. Along with a faster strong processor and a better camera. I'm guessing 3.2 megapixel. HSDPA is being adapted around the world for faster internet speeds leaving the US' 3G at 2-3.2 MBPS behind in the slow lane. So it would make more sense to make it more appealing to Worldwide customers by giving them a top of the line product even if it is beyond what were using now. AT&T is working on adapting HSDPA by the end of the year from what I've heard so it wouldn't be long before american customers would be able to enjoy the speed boosts as well.
Now the camera just makes sense to me because I've seen many other camera phones have that resolution or higher.
It would also be cool if they added a TV tuner or some type of APP to watch & download shows through your local carrier (like softbank in japan) because I know a lot of people watch it on the train here while going to work so it might help it gain some more market share here.
