What better way to do some recon missions on the suburban neighborhood than with your new iPhone 3GS attached to an RC Plane?
This is just the first baby steps. The next step will be flying the RC with it (using Qik as remote camera?). After that, use the iPhone as the brains and make your own drone army. Yeah, we said it.
I don't think I would risk my iPhone to get airborne video. There are small light weight video cameras designed just for this purpose that cost much less. They also provide airborne controls for moving the camera and controlling start/stop in flight. $74.99 http://www.hobby-lobby.com/video-camera.htm
There´s a similar clip of a guy that put his 5D mk II on a RC-plane when it was brand new and nowhere to be found should he crash it... Now THAT´s adventurous!
Especially since much of the flying was over the coastline and open water.
I used it for a while, but then realised how awful it was. Subtitle rendering is awful, the general interface is awful and it's the opposite of "user friendly" (testking 642-587 that is). Sure the codec support is pretty high, but then I use Perian so the majority of them work just as good (if not better) with Quicktime. The only thing missing from Perian is Ogg Vobis video support (which almost no one with sense uses these days).testking 70-562
