At first we thought they'd be solved by getting used to the form of the trackpad, but they continue. Maybe Apple could employ some sort of Trackpad learning" to help us get used to these things. We are not alone it seems as discussion boards are filling up with problems. If you've had any issues, let us know in the comments.
Some people are even complaining about the click noise (no problem with that here!)
Coming from a PowerBook, my new MBP has extraordinarily louder click noise - it's downright annoying in a quiet room when you're doing much clicking... Since I'm several hrs from an Apple store, is the click noise supposed to be the same/similar to prior MBPs and PBs?
My trackpad works wonderfully and I prefer it to a mouse on some days (blasphemy!?). But it is not easy to use for Spre and things like that...but I love the clicking noise. Aw yeah..I love it. I don't know...overall I really like everything the trackpad does. Maybe it's cause its my first laptop. No problems here.
Same deal for me. I dont mind the click noise, my issue is with the trackpad not registering some of them, that's an issue.
I'm also a "thumb rester" and I think Apple has done a great job in creating the track pad so that it isnt always shrinking and expanding and spinning things while my thumb is resting on the pad and my other fingers are moving around the pad. ...But it does happen sometimes, mostly when surfing.
I love the trackpad. Have not had any issues. In fact, when I sit down and use a mouse on my iMac or my work PC. I begin to miss the trackpad for it ease of use. I think Apple should come out with a wireless trackpad to use with the iMac and get rid of the mouse.
My MacBook Pro also had a very loud click noise which almost prompted me to go back to the Apple Store to replace it, but I found information online to fix it myself.
All you need to do is flip the MacBook over and remove the battery. You can then slip a small piece of paper under the triangular piece that supports the trackpad. This dulls the sound to a normal soft click. I tried a piece of business card (too thick), kleenex (too thin) and finally settled on a piece of Post-it notepaper, which has the advantage of adhesive to hold it in place. With the battery back in place, it's not going anywhere.
I suspect that with increased use the click will soften (?wear down) on its own and I plan to remove the Post-it note in a couple of months to see if it needs to stay in place.
Overall I am in love with the new trackpad because I am constantly using the multi-touch gestures. I find that the rotation gesture is sometimes tough because it thinks the thumb is just resting there but indeed it isn't, I would like to maybe see some little enhancement to that. One thing I noticed is that at the edge of the trackpad it sometimes doesn't always seem to register those movements, kind of like I'm not even touching the pad.
Overall I love the new pad and I don't see any need for any major fixes and the sound maybe slightly louder but I don't notice it that much.
I guess a "fix" would be nice, also in the next OS release/fix the option to deactivate some of the other touch controls not just single touch, some people don't like the 3 fingers and 4 finger stuff, just a word of easy advice.
I love the trackpad. It works wonderfully, way better than the PC i had before it. As for the clicking noise, It doesn't bother me. However, this may be because i never ever click on laptops anymore since the added tap feature most notebooks have nowadays. It kinda rules out a button for me so the new macbook has been a blessing for me in that regard.

I really had a headache from a rev.a macbook. If the unibody rev.a macbook does the same, I am doomed.

Otherwise the computer itself is great!

Click noise
I don't have a new macBook, but that noise sounds like a strangely satisfying clunk to me.
