This Doom version is not available in Germany. I guess the censorship overloards are frightened that my sensible yet adult soul might be hampered by some red pixels.

I for one thank my goverment for pampering me like that. Pixels are so much more cruel than those slaughtered kids in the numerous wars going on right? Puh. Saved once again from the cruel virtual world. Back into my bubble. Let's watch the news instead. Oh my. Just another hundreds dead somewhere. Well. At least they aren't red pixels....

(insert sarcasm tags where approbiate)

D'oh.

Dear International Moment of Zen,

that is without a doubt the best comment i have read on this ever!

Take care

Display of Nazi symbols is illegal in Germany. German market version of Return to the Castle of Wolfenstein was tweaked for the same reasons.

Hence, it's not censorship, it's German legislation. Canada was the last country in the world to have Skype for iPhone available in Canadian iTunes store. Again, legal reasons.

We are talking about Doom. Not. Wolfenstein.
There aren't any Nazi (to hell with them!) symbols in doom.
Thus, your argument is not valid at all.

The problem is indeed the goverment and the censorship organization.
They prefer simple solution. And their (totally wrong) explanation for rising violence and amok attacks on schools (Germany had its own Columbine incident) amongst teenagers are ego-shooters. There are politicians who want to forbid them all together. Even for adults. As a result of constant uninformd discussion and misleading articles in stupid tabloids, they are filtering more and more. Games that may have been played some years ago by 16 years old is nowadays only available for adults. And it gets worse.

Actually legislation to restrict expression is the EXACT definition of censorship.

I remember playing Doom on my mac

Given the way they completely f*cked up Wolfenstein 3D, I am not going to even bother with this one. Especially since they are charging new game prices for old repurposed crap. I'm not paying 6.99 just to find out if it even works.

There was a Doom for jailbroken phones. I don't remember if it was Cydia or Installer, but I had it.
Great that it hit the App Store.
And cheers for Saurik! He still has the original Apple feeling.

FINALLY! This game was bomb, buying this yo
