Hello all...
Well I'm in malaysia and yesterday at a certain 5-star hotel here, there was a girl (who looked like a business person) showing certain other businessly dressed people what appeared from the interface to be an iPhone (as in it was running the iphone OS, and it certainly wasn't an iPod touch). However, it was slightly differently shaped, it was a little thicker and the back was kind of black, it appeared similar to the back of this phone.
My point is that it appears Apple is now planning on marketing the iPhone as an unlocked product in certain countries where it does not want an exclusive contract, and Malaysia is probably one such country. That being the case, I don't beleive it is completely out of the realm of possibility that Apple is presenting the 3G iPhone to telcos here and the lady who was presenting the phone on Apple's behalf didn't really suspect anybody would think twice when she pulled it out discreetly in a 5-Star hotel lobby.
But anything's possible, you know? I guess I won't know the truth until the product's released but I'd say I'm about 60-70% sure that this was the 3G iPhone.
3G iPhone prototype spotted in Malaysia?

Just my 2 and a half cents.
