I doubt very seriously that Apple will introduce a 3G that is comparable to the 2.5G version. What you will probably have to choose is either a faster internet speed or a larger capacity phone since the 3G battery will eat up space in the new phone. Thats how they will prevent an uproar. Once people flee towards the faster iPhone, your 2.5G will seem a lot faster.
