If it's what you need right now, then get it. I have bought 2 MBP's since they launched, and in my opinion at least, it's the best computing experience out there. You'll likely have a hard time missing the Sony once you get one. Seriously. And the gesturing they just added should be neat to play around with as well.
If you can or do wait, it might still be quite some time until they do a major overhaul f this very successful unit, and as others have mentioned, that will likely be when they update the chassis to something a little newer than the 5 year old design currently available. I'm OK with the current design though.
Hard to say what else they will change when they do re-design, but many today were talking about a larger trackpad, similar to the new Air. Anyway, I guess we'll see.
