iTunes is selling 4'33"

Actually I'm not so sure this is an april fool, since they've been doing it since yesterday..
The NZ Herald had people going for a while but had to put a disclaimer up after two hours:

Of course, NZ gets April 1st a full day before everyone else (in extreme cases due to the date line).
The 4'33" is a genuine classical piece apparently: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4′33″ - it's not an April Fool!
Having performed 4'33" many times I can tell you it's not an April Fool's joke.
Sometimes I put 4'33" on a loop and listen to it the whole way to work.
: )
Interesting thing that.
Indeed - 4'33'' is a genuine piece of music by John Cage, who has also produced music for a "Prepared" Piano, which has random bits of metal/plastic behind some of the strings to produce weird noises.
About 5 years ago, one of the BBC orchestras performed 4'33'' in a modern music concert in London. It was broadcast live on BBC TV and BBC Radio 3. Due to the long periods of silence, computer processes which activate ads etc. when there was silence had to be turned off!
Computer processes that activate ads, nice one
When John Cage performed 4'33" on stage he brings out a drum set and the drummer sits there with his arms up like he is ready to play...for 4 minutes and 33 seconds. Crazy stuff!
not to mention the pianist raises and lowers the piano lid repeatedly as though he were ready to play! 4'33'' is legit!
