Will we see 10,000 iPhone apps this year?Mon, 10/13/2008 - 05:03 — Andy Space
Mobclix demands developers insert just 15 lines of code into their apps. Once that code is included within the application the software will track and analyse each app. The current statistics from the firm show that even since Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced that 3,000 applications were available through the App Store on September 9 an additional 1.093 pieces of software have shipped (974 free, 3119 paid) - and the total is growing fast, with the analysis currently suggesting we'll see around 10,000 such applications appear by the end of the year. Breaking down the figures, we learn that the split favours games, with around 25 per cent of the applications available being games.
With new applications emerging daily, the top five new applications include: Crossword Dictionary Online Edition; Lil' Pinata; Lil' SnowMan; ShakeWise and Zen of Ten. The leading top five games include: iSlots, Tap Tap Revenge, Dactyl, Labryinth Lite, Blue Skies Lite.

That chart proves that just
That chart proves that just because you use a mac you don´t necessarily get usability...
It´s practically impossible to match up the shades of blue on the chart with their respective items in the legend.
Quite unreadable.
Thank you reader
Your input matters to us - but why not take it to the people who made the chart?
haha, i just wanted to post
haha, i just wanted to post the same...
terrible chart!
Nice chart
Great job with using similar colours for the different fields of the chart. It's something Apple would do*
*not really.
Whoops
Ah. I see it wasn't you who made the chart. In any case, there's no way to say this to the mobiclix guys so we're venting it out on you. :)
Shooting the messenger
Carry on then.
Charty
That is an awful chart. The only thing I could tell was, of all the categories, one was particularly popular, while several had only marginal share. Good to know, I guess?
www.mobclix.com/
The people who made the chart can easily be reacehed at http://www.mobclix.com/company/contactus/.
Gee gosh. That easy huh?
joke
Hang on let me get the eyedropper tool out in Photoshop to figure out which color is which. Must be a joke.
How about linking to the chart, then?
If you post a chart without including a link to its page on the website of whoever created it, then expect visitors to assume you made the chart. Did you think everyone would go exploring the entire mobclix website before they concluded the chart was theirs?
P.S. I did just that - it's at http://www.mobclix.com/appstores/
how about linking to the right chart
http://www.mobclix.com/appstore/
that url actually works unlike the one above...
looks like the charts have been updated and your screenshot above is old. its in flash so its easy to idtenify categories - check it out mate!
