Apple gives UK iTunes users free iTunes LP Christmas tracks
Apple pleased US users with the release of a 20-track free Christmas compilation yesterday, this morning the company’s merry manifestation of seasonal cheer has been extended to the UK, where it has this morning released eight free tracks for Xmas.
The collection includes songs from Glasvegas, Aretha Franklin and Charlotte Church, Weezer, The Priests and more.
Early reports this morning indicated there to be a problem in the iTunes set-up, with some readers unable to download Apple’s benison. These problems appear to have been quickly resolved, and the link (at the end of the tale) now functions correctly.
The free music sampler comes with iTunes LP so you also get to browse through photos and lyrics, read more about the artists and more.
If you want to grab a slice of this free music action, act fast - the music’s only going to be made available for a week and is only compatible with iTunes 9.

Same problem. I wanted to try out the LP format so downloaded the freebie. Seems from Apple Support Forums there were similar problems (maybe not the same one) in September when LP was first introduced in US. I've tried with 2 machines, PPC & Intel. Support have advised me to back up iTunes Library, completely delete and re-install iTunes and if necessary Quicktime. Very very unimpressed.
lol. Like I'm going to backup 30gb of music and reinstall it because one file is broken...
