Apple online store opens in Brazil; China gets an App Store

Apple continues its expansion South of US borders, with launch today of its own online Apple retail store in Brazil - and has also opened up the iTunes Store for business in China.

The new store twins with iTunes Stores which are now open in Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico and many more Latin American territories. We’re not sure when these opened, (sorry about that - perhaps you, dear reader, can educate us).

Further afield, iTunes now hosts stores for a spinning variety of European countries, including those formerly part of the Soviet bloc.

Putting paid to reports Apple would be unable to offer the service in the country at the behest of its iPhone carriers, an iTunes Store is now available in China, presently this only offers Apps and iTunes U content.

Meanwhile, Twitter is this morning alive with Brazilian users enthusiastically reporting Apple’s online retail store in Brazil is now online. You can access the store right here (you’ll have to click on the ‘Store’ tab)...though it isn’t yet listed in the “Change Country” interface at the bottom left of the online store home page.

Apple now operates eight “Stores within a store” complexes in Brazil, which it runs in association with Fnac.

The Brazilian online store is good news.
Now it's time to cut those prices... still too high. But it depends mainly to the super-high taxation. Poor Brazil :(

Apple is smart, this country is going to explode.

Next step: open an Apple Store; Rua Oscar Freire or Av. Paulista would be perfect location.

C'mon Apple, drop the bomb!

Only Mexico has an iTunes store (perhaps Brazil too). The resto of Latin America only has App Stores. Try to set your store location to Argentina and see what happens when you try to buy music...

Apple online store in Brazil is a good news, but we knew it would arrive anytime since August! Well, it officialy launched today, but I dunno the exactly time...

So, I hope excellent prices are coming to Brazil through this entirely new Apple online store, which, to me, gonna be the right place to buy Apple prods... At least better than the "store within a store"...

And yes, for sure Av. Paulista would be a nice place to be a new Apple Store!

C'mon Aplle, drop the bomb! [2]

Kudos fro Brazil (and earlier, Mexico), but what about the rest of latin america? Sure Belice is a tiny economy compared to Brazil, but my Country (Colombia) and Argentina are the next logical steps for Apple, their economies are stable and very fluid, give us an online store, an iTunes Store and you will see an explosion of young people apple loving crowd... C'mon Apple! (pssst psst, I dont live in Bogotá, but I know a plenty of nice places to open an Apple Store over there :D)

If the Apple open any factory in Brazil all prices would be cut by 50%.
It has a tax for it ...

The emerging markets will drive the global economy for the next decade.
Especially Brazil and China.
If Apple wants to grow, Brazil is the best place to invest.

its one thousand dollars for an iphone that's crazy... a mac that you can buy for US $1000 you pay 3 times the price.. that is crazy

This is definitely good news... I'm definitely hoping for an Online Store going live in Argentina, I would love to be able to screw the resellers that are waaaaaay overpriced, charging from about 500 dolars more than the US prices to almost 2000 dolars more than the US prices... And of course I would love to get an iTunes Store and see some real advertising for Apple which here is almost non existant...

But probably it won't ever happen :(

It is a fact that Brazil needs to stop its protectionist policy. Look at the price comparison with Mexico!

...here in Brazil there's more and more people using iPhone/iPod on the street!
and its so expensive for us, from 3rd world!

Only Mexico and Brasil has Apple online store from latin america, the others countries hasn't.

FIX THE POST

I visited the apple store brazil, and unfortunatelly the prices are amazing high, the same price of Fnac, anyway, a real apple store in Paulista Avenue or Oscar Freire Street is a great news.
