Munich Apple Store opens...Germans flock

Germany's Munich Apple Store opened this week (Cool full page VR) to crowds usually reserved for Oktoberfest.  The store, at 1 Rosenstrasse, is the first of five retail shops that Apple plans to open in Germany.  The store itself, unsurprisingly, isn't much changed from those you know and love, as the pictures below from ifoAppleStore and ifun.de attest.  Here's a live webcam as well.  Oh, and hit up Apple's official German Store page if you plan on being in the area.

... so ... what was the gift for the first clients?

I read that the first clients got a T-shirt from Apple...

I heard it was from Steve Jobs himself - he would shove your new iphone right up your own ass on the way out.

which four other cities are you talking about? afaik nothing is final on future apple stores in germany yet.

They are still using old MPBs at a brand new store's Genius Bar...

You've never been to the Oktoberfest, right? This crowd isn't nearly enough to fill even one tent – and there a more than dozen of it ;-)

The other planned cities are : Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf or Hamburg

i don't think i'll ever understand why people are getting so excited about Apple stores. it's just a shop. it's shiny... but it's a shop. enough with the clapping already. so ridiculously american, even though they're in germany.

I was there, and brought a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xAB8WSCZ_o and some pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/oifi/sets/72157610737242099/show/
It was great fun, the store is great!
