We're now getting the first spyshots of the inside of Apple's new Upper West Side Store.  It looks pretty standard issue from here (except some 5 story high glass ceilings), including the big tables and that giant Apple Logo that will be hanging over your head (at bottom).  The Store opens Saturday the 14th.  Weather permitting, we'll be on hand for the opening.

I have to agree. Some people need to get a life.

light leak...

Seriously?

How an anyone get excited about another Apple store save the spreading of a great brand? The stores sell the SAME stuff and look THE SAME. What's the big deal? Be glad another store opened for sure, but let's relax on the "peek" to see the same old IKEA furniture.

This is some what

This is some what interesting, and qualifies as news, because of the competition coming from Windows stores. What will be different? What will Apple have in their sleeve... if anything, to compete? It would be strange if Apple didn´t differentiate themselves in some manner, now that they are about to unveil a new  retail store... Especially in the wake of the newly introduced Windows stores

I don't find the regular mall

I don't find the regular mall store openings that interesting anymore. But, these flagship stores with interesting architecture and different building designs are impressive. Look at 5th Avenue, SoHo, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Carrousel du Louvre… there is something interesting about those and the design is eye-catching.

Plus, something many people don't know is that those stone floors in the typical Apple Store are freakishly expensive… like "a home in San Francisco" expensive. The Japanese steel panels are amazingly heavy and hung on the wall and then measured with a micrometer to ensure they are within tolerances for even spacing.

The stores are designed with the same care as the products, and it's fun to look admire.

My message was removed?!

Why exactly did my message get removed about the fact that all news is only about tablets and iphones, then the gaps filled with pointless filler stuff like this?

Why are comments being censored? If we feel strongly enough about this, why can't we DISCUSS it?
