I love it - as Bart put it 'shining a harsh light' is fun, and I for one, as a kool-aid drinking Apple fan am more than happy to take the ribbing. I only wish that the Simpsons had gone full-tilt and used the word 'Apple' and the actual apple logo, though I know the fear of legal retribution made them alter it.
Any Apple fan who take umbrage with it should be dragged into the street and whipped with Red Vines. I mean Thread vines!
See, when it's done well, even satire that isn't particularly complimentary to a group of people can be appreciated by that same group. As usual, The Simpsons shows everyone else the way home when it comes to well-observed ribbing.
Excellent advertisement - just in time for the holidays. And even for free (I assume Mobs ehm Jobs didn't pay for the advertisement) !
Just think back to the Seinfield thing, which was more than lame. In contrast this negative ad is being spread like wildfire from fanboy's and fangirls and those who are pissed off by Macs.
What more do you want ? The Simpsons should have an impact on popularity.
Any one catch the reference to the 1984 Macintosh commercial (i.e. when the guy comes running down the aisle of people to throw the hammer at the screen? I thought someone would have commented on that by now. Genius!
