New Apple hardware arriving shortly?

We've all seen this before.  Leading up to a hardware refresh, little things start happening that seem to indicate that a release will come any...minute..now.  Todays news is that 10.5.7 has kext files referring to Intel Nahalem (Core i7) processors (via AI)  This would seem to indicate that Apple's hardware refresh will happen in concert with 10.5.7.   Nahalem chips are likely to be the muscle (CPU) behind Apple's next generation Mac Pros.

This is just the latest of many signs.  NVIDIA iMac and Mini driver popped up at the beginning of the year - and videos of possible new Mac Mini hardware surfaced last week.   Don't forget that Apple's 20-inch Cinema Displays were recently EOL'd without a replacement named.

Plus we'd heard a few weeks ago, along with others, conveniently, that 'Late March' was the target for a hardware event.  Last year Apple had its enterprise iPhone event on March 6th - something to consider only if you believe Apple is moving to a yearly update schedule.

What the heck apple fans and users must do to get newer macs ... mac pro, imac and mac mini are screaming for refresh and they are really really outdated. Probably a lot of people are already and a lot of people will be moving to PCs because of that not acceptable apple methods ... I am one who will go to pc really soon if waiting doesn't ends.

stoopid

why he has the point, right now high end PC with osx is a beast if we compare it to current mac pro ...

...why not playing around with all the great nice apps Apple has released in February, that are working very well even on an Intel MacMini with a little bit of RAM? I sometimes don't understand why some people wait so much for the very latest while they have not done a 10th of what can be done on an older Mac...
Let's stop focusing on the hardware and make something nice with what Apple does best: software!

Not true. Some people make their livings and pay the bills with computers and some people need high end machines to do that. Who said you can not use 100% of the hardware mac offers you today. In my case current macs don't give what I need and want to be able to do m work faster.

Um, that is illegal.

Funny to hear that you'll move to a PC, as you'll either be moving to Vista or backpedal to ancient XP. Snow Leopard will make a showing before Win7.

Didn't say to MS OS. I said PC with OSx :)

Yeah um, that is illegal.

Have fun in the pc world......

Hopefully its workd out for you : )

yeps it will do probably if I think about it ... I didn't say I will ditch the OSx and use MS oh no ... I will just build my I7 PC with osx ;) if pros doesn't arrive in a week or two :))) and probably if we think about that then all costs might be 25-40% cheeper hehe :)

you still cant get a pro for the price of a pro from any other vendor, or build your own, and i mean like for like.

isn't that illegal?

What about Time Capsule!!!! I want a refresh with USB option as well.

I am putting off buying a harddrive and waiting patiently but I dont know how much longer i Cna survive with 20 GB of free space.

This coming Tuesday, I hope.

There are so many Tuesdays already from November 08 and nothing ... so don't hope to much :) I really don't think something will happen soon but I will be really suprised and glad if I see it otherwise since I really need 1 new imac, 1 new mac mini and 1 new mac pro asap!

How come everyone thinks it'll be a Tuesday? Did I miss something?

Yeah...your mum called, she said it's this Tuesday

TimeCapsule yes aswell, huh I need usb option on that aswell.

Can not build PRO by yourself ? Hehe you can build much better PC for less money then the PRO and it will be much faster ... :))

I mean seriously, I love Apple computers, I'm big fan of it and I am prepared to pay that extra % for mac computer for sure but do you think current mac pro, imac and mac mini prices are acceptable for hardware 1+ years old and not to mention they are not discounted from the day they were released ? I in general love Apple computers, but somehow I'm afraid they are doing really really wrong business decisions latelly when we talk about new products. That is their big lag and dissapointment. All that said update is needed if not a lot of people will switch to PC with osx and apple might loose big % of customers that they got over this last years and they really worked hard to get them so I don't see where is the point now loosing them.

That is illegal, though.

I've been waiting since November for an iMac, if there isn't one within the next few weeks I will have no choice but to make a hackintosh... I have always supported apple and paid the premium for their machines, for instance I just purchased the $900 display, but enough is enough, having the pay the premium is okay, having to pay time waiting for a much over due refresh is an entirely different story... Hurry Apple...

Exactly same here ... Pc it is then with osx :) and we are not only two who thinks that way so apple better hurry if not I think they will loose big % in market.

But that is illegal.

Really? They will loose? So things are going to fall out of them? Maybe LOSE is the word you are looking for. AND if you are so ignorant to do this, have fun with it. I love when people act like Apple isn't doing their best and trying to come out with a revolutionary product. I despise people like you who think you are the only people that want this to happen. Quit being a baby and wait like the rest of the world.

There are actually Mac Mini's in the refurb store right now. Usually that never happens. (It's been there all day too!)

I wonder if this means they're clearing out inventory...

Looks like theyare gelting ready to Kick some ass! Maybe we'll see some press Invites this week?

Anyone that understands the life cycles of how Apple runs and uses OSX on a Mac daily will never go back to MS's crapware. The core of Apple users that have brought the company up through the years will still be there, and the wanna be's that purchased a mac because it was "cool" may leave, but oh well, they won't effect Apple's growth.

Even in the MS world very very few people fully use their machines, they like bragging they have xxxx processer, 8 gigs of ram etc.. and have no clue how it works or use any programs that come close to taxing their machine. The reason Apple only does updates yearly is they don't need the "latest and greatest" for every machine they run (imac, Mac mini) etc...

The general/average user is what is fueling Apple's growth. People that are tired of the spyware/malware/bugs/viruses and the general pain in the ass MS OS that becomes a fat pig a few months after they buy their new machine that they may save 30 or 40% up front but then blow it on spyware/virus/cleaning software, repairs and taking it to a shop to clean it up because they have no clue what they are doing.

That is why Apple is gaining market share. They buy a machine, they use it, it runs as fast in 2 years later as it did they day you purchased it.

Not the teen or 20 something gamers that think they need more hardware because World of Warcraft is only running at 20 fps.

All I can say is, "Amen, brother!"

True but some people use full power of their computers like I do and 8gigs of ram come on ... that is not a lot 16 for me is limit atm.

you said that the hardcore people will hold up apple and keep them going with others. then paragraph 2 you said the average user is fueling the growth. no make any sense.
