Windows 7 "Abso-f#$ing-lutely" launching today, BootCamp support en route

Windows 7 is now officially shipping and Microsoft's got some new ads out.

Separately, Apple has released a Knowledge Base article detailing support for Windows 7 on Bootcamp before the end of the year.  While Apple's full support makes installation easier, many have had luck installing Windows 7 RTM on BootCamp partitions already (see Giz Post).  Interestingly, Apple lists a slew of Macs which "won't be supported" on Windows 7, all released in 2006.

A far more popular method of running Windows on Mac hardware is on virtualization either through the free (but limited) VirtualBox software or by $40 Parallels or the new $67 VMWare Fusion.

Not bad......still windows........
tagline should be, "Where Do You Want To Go Yesterday?"

finally...(according to the ads)!

Meh. I'll pass. Spraying dog poop with air freshener doesn't change the fact that it's still dog poop.

That's funny. I walked into a apple store last early this year because the nvidia 9600m in my unibody macbook pro died while I was booted into XP on bootcamp.

Because I wanted to make the genius's diagnosis as easy as possible, I told him the unit died while using my bootcamp partition.

The first thing the "genius" said to me was, Sorry, we don't support windows".

So how do you no longer "support" something if you never supported it in the first place?

Does anyone know why those specific macs will not be supported?

omg windows 7 actually wakes up when you open the lid?! i always had problems with windows and shutting/opening the lid. XP would always freeze before sleep on my bootcamp partition. i say OS X has the win over both of these comercials though, mainly because OS X has had these things forever. Commercial #1 congradulations buddy, you've used Expose, ergm, cough, i'm sorry, windows "preview thingy" for the first time. nice rip windows. Commercial #2, i've always had a speedy start up, shut down, and sleep/wake time. windows may have fixed the wake up issue, but still fails in startup, shutdown.

With all those adjectives I initially thought this to be a Mac ad !

Oh btw, my Mac wakes up faster !

Ha! That's funny, the guys at :25 actually have microsoft ID badges.

Hmm... I wonder how microsoft managed to brainwash all those people to be in their commercials.
