Only one choice, can we select more than one?
EDGE is used for the first implementation of iPhone because it is pervasive! It is available to most of the user population. 3G is not everywhere yet. How would you like to buy an iPhone and not be able to have it work?
3G chips are battery hogs. They run hotter and draw much more current. Technology is being developed to address this.
Blackberry uses EDGE. Why don' t you complain about THAT!
While your second comment may be true, the availability of 3G in the US isn't a valid excuse to not include it at all. My $25 phone can switch between data networks just fine. If 3G isn't available in my current location, it just switches to EDGE.
I swear all I've been hearing ever since the iPhone came out, is how bad AT&T is. I'm not sure what they're talking about. I've been very satisfied with AT&T in my neck of the woods. I've had decent service in all but the most remote locations and many times I have service when my T Mobile friends don't. Plus, I don't have the supposed limitations Verizon imposes.
Have no idea that iPhone will release in China Mainland? Apple Fans in China are waiting for the iPhone debut on China Stage!
Here in Israel we have 3G for some time now - and it wont sell unless a 3G version will be out.
who cares...?
Love Apple. Hate AT&T.
Frankly, some of the most stupid tech support "help" people are found at AT&T. I've called them five times and gotten five different answers for the same issue. AT&T is really---REALLY--awful in every possible way.
go with verizon its better
You're just lucky, they are worse than at&t, I have had both.
