As an AEBS 802.11n customer I was disappointed that the promised functionality in the AEBS "Gigabit" and Leopard (Time Machine) was cancelled. But instead of fixing this they have released a new product with the promised functionality.
We were mislead and ripped off as consumers. I call for class action.

Good for you. Go for it.
Well, I cannot say that I am all that surprised. It's really our fault for being ripped off. We all know how Steve Jobs makes money. Lies. That's exactly what he did to his buddy Woz to keep for himself a few hundred bucks which was rightfully Woz's. I don't expect he changes his habits which was acquired at 20s.

iPhone, and iTunes Movies & TV shows in more countries. TV is mostly useless without iTunes video content. Other than that, not much. - maybe a 16gB iPhone, but 3G was obviously not going to happen

What we've been given...
A new Macbook with less capabilities for a larger price only because it's thinner. That's not the right direction, for what I expect a Laptop should be. Apple dropped FireWire? That's painful.
All devices and software upgrades are focussed around one thing. Getting us, end-users, to us Apple services more and more. Spendig more money on temperary data (like rented movies) instead on the hardware over time.
I agree it will help Apple to get bigger, but what about affordable solutions?
Everything has it's price. Apple hardware is mostly cheaper over time. But setting up a
community wich allows people to spend money with the click of a button is very dangerous.
Before they know, the bills are getting that big they can't pay them anymore.
It's a globa abuse if informatic technologies that is exploied by many big companies.
No longer computers are build to help people, they getting architected to convert people into online money spenders.
I am disapointed we have only seen product to support a digital world that cost us alot.
The MacBook Air is a great cool new laptop. But at the end, it isn't all that at all.
This is the first time ever I'm feeling disapointed by a direction made by Apple, but I knew for years this day was coming. Really, it isn't hard to predict Apple's Next Step.
Add Macbook Air + Apple TV + Time Slot + iTunes and you have a new hole in your wallet.
Parental control, what about putting a limit of purchases per month/year?
I'm sorry, but I haven't seen anything revolutionairy, at all... And I'm sad about it.

I agree with your comments about the MBA being a downgrade.
However, I feel that consumers should be allowed to make their own choices. if you want to throw all your money and more out the window to rent movies that's your choice, it should not be up to corporations to control my spending abilities.
I do agree with the child controls though, last thing you want is to get home and your kid has bought a new movie collection for you!

I am more interested in getting free upgrades for my iPhone then spending 28K SEK on a small laptop.

What a totally disappointing keynote esp. for iphone users who still cant even get the basic copy and paste which my 'noah's ark' palm pilot had 10 years ago.
Gimme a break. All that hype for what??? My macbook pro is feeling just as disappointed with software updates only making apple richer and us poorer.
Could this be a watershed moment for people to begin to say, 'look after the consumer or else!'.

As I thought about the keynote last night I realized that we pretty much should have seen the MacBook Air coming. A sub $1000 notebook from Apple? Please I've seen Apple faithful buy MacBook Pros who don't video edit or play games. The dear leader knew he could get $1,800 from us. A MacBook Tablet? Why steal any more thunder from the iPhone, the only reason in my mind iPhone is at 4mil instead of 5 or 6 is because iPod Touch was more appealing to that crowd who was waiting. I would have got the iPhone during the price break if they hadn't released the Touch. No worries we'll see a MacBook Tablet but it will be 2Gs and at least 6 months after they introduce the iPhone Nano.

Agreed,
I am still running my old faithful 12" PB G4, i thought i was going to upgrade to the "new MBP" but since one didn't come I am quite happy to stick with this little guy.
The MBA has zero computing power, it was made for people with too much money or seeking too much attention. oooo look I have a super pretty Laptop, but it can't do anything. in my mind the MBA is Apple's equivalent of Motorola's Razor - looks good, many will buy it, but really it's just a well marketed shit-piece.

Apple should have fit the current MB processor to this thing and put a better hard drive and the new multitouch pad..the whole thing would still be under 4 lbs...Nobody cares about thinness, PEOPLE care about LIGHTNESS. This would sell MILLIONS like the iphone.MBA is a 13' display and they call it ultraportable. This should have been the new MB with a little more heaviness and thickness. And then they should have done something like for MBP. Thay would draw a lot of windows customers..I would have personally buy 3 of them. This is way overpriced. Apple is a deceving company with their Thinnovation..Lightness and current MB performance with the new touchpad would be evolutionary and would sell like there is no tomorrow.

I was actually pleased with the announcements at Macworld. The first three: the iPhone, iTunes Movie Rentals and Apple TV Take 2 were nice improvements on their existing technologies. (Though I agree MMS should have been added to the iPhone.) We'll see how the market responds to the MacBook Air. As a power user, that's not my thing, but I can see a niche for it.
To everyone who has been complaining about the "underwhelming" announcements or have contributed to the plummeting stock price: get over yourselves. With Macworld and WWDC plus ad hoc special events every year, Apple can't be expected to change the world with each one. You'd know how impossible that was if you worked in the industry.
For the most part I think Apple is going in the right direction and all the idiots out there need to understand the term "incremental improvement." When a technology company introduces a revolutionary product, that event should be treated as an exception to the rule, not to be expected with every announcement.
Get used to the incremental improvement model and stop ranting when a company's announcements follow it. You're just embarrassing yourselves by exposing your complete ignorance.

WHERE IS AN UPDATE TO APERTURE ???
If Apple does not announce an update to Aperture this week I will be extremely disappointed. For a product that is suppose to be a key component in their professional apps line up they are leaving professional photographers out in the cold.
There have been major pro camera bodies released by Nikon and Canon and Aperture is unusable because it has not been updated to support these cameras.
Without an update my workflow has come to a halt or severely altered. I have had to resort to using Adobe Lightroom which I do not care for but with out Nikon support I have very little choice. The longer I have to use Lightroom the less likely I will bother going back to Aperture.

Why does everyone leave out the most popular Mac in the entire line-up? MACBOOK. It should have received an update at Macworld. The current design is over 2yrs old and far out-dated when compared to all other Apple products. The White and Black plastic has got to go. Time to move to an aluminum enclosure.
I know that all the apple fanboys love their Macbook Pros, but for the average consumer, they care more about the Macbook.
