How does it connect to the receiver? wirelessly?
anyway, the single greatest thing about my receiver’s remote is that it is a learning universal remote too, just point another remote at it and it learns.
if they added IR TRANSMITTERS to this receiver, and a learning IR receiver, they could make it so you could, through the receiver, control all your other equipment too with the one iPhone app! that would be win.
@seo firm - Agreed. It seems to me like the best method would be to use Bluetooth. For Audio use A2DP. For the other nifty controls from the app you could send them via a simple serial protocol using SPP. That way, I don't have to tie my phone to my entertainment center. Also, I can use my phone as a remote via the app (without requiring an $80 easily lost dongle).
In addition, you would get for free support for BT stereo headsets.
Unfortunately, I see no reference to Bluetooth.
