Nine Inch Nails front man, Trent Reznor has a sense of humour. Anyone who has been to see Nine Inch Nails live in recent weeks will have seen it in action...
As you can see the band's video display seemingly suffers a BSOD error every single night. And it's all part of the act...
You should probably mention that the BSOD is only shown for split seconds at 5:27 (first video) and 1:04 (second video). See the "seen it in action" link for more.
Reznor, a convinced Mac user, has included a segment of video showing a BSOD alert within the showtime video for the performance of song, 'The Great Destroyer' - clearly this is a jab at Windows.

Also i think everybody is reading a little too much into this they are not saying buy a mac they are just using it as an error screen. It doesn't seem like a stab at windows. Not that i don't love macs. I do. But that doesn't seem that bad. Oh and they suffer a BSOD error every night? Maybe they are just playing the same video in the background.
Trent Reznor is a Mac aficionado and has been for many years. I remember reading an article about using Macs on planes and feeling sorry for the "Luddites" using PCs. He has also released several cuts through his website for remixing using GarageBand.
It does not surprise me that he would use his show to take a little stab at Windows.
When I saw NIN in Philadelphia a couple of weeks ago, the BSOD appeared briefly twice on the screen. I don't think I blinked during "The Great Destroyer" breakdown because 1) I was amazed by the visuals and 2) I wanted to see the BDOD for myself.
The visuals from this tour are amazine, but don't take my word for it! WIRED magazine has an excellent peek behind the scenes.
Not only is Trent is Mac fan, but also keyboardist Alessandro Cortini, who has three Apple related tattoos, including a Sad Mac one. For his live rig, Cortini has Apple MainStage running Native Instruments Guitar Rig, Massive, Kontakt and Reaktor, all through his MBP. :)

So 2006.. The Knife been there done that
Swedish band The Knife had a BSOD projection on their Mesh screen as part of the show intro. The videos were made with a mac, so go figure.
A picture is worth 1,000 words...
...having to sit through 5 minutes of bad flash video for 1 second of an image is worth nothing. Next time take a screen shot.
bsod
Wow im an idiot i couldn't figure out what bsod was there for a sec.
Blue Screen of Death lol.
i saw it a 1:06 on second video
