Classy Microsoft commercial makes us wish there was IE on Mac (NSFW)

Nice work by Crispen Porter Bogusky Bradley and Montgomery. They are in full backtracking mode now so this might dissapear from Youtube.

Perhaps she isn't a fan of the font rendering on IE?  Or maybe standards compliance?

Also when trying to find this youtube (they've been pulling them), we found this gem:

Amazingly creative ad. Why are they backtracking on this one? I wish they would develop a full-fledged campaign out of it.

Wow 9 to 5, gross, this commercial is terrible

Close enough Microsoft. Mac users puke on entire Windows on that. (Ironic isn't it, the girl was actually puking at all other IE < IE 8)

Safari, Firefox rules gringos !

What an amazingly creative ad. I wish instead of backtracking, they would develop this into a full-fledged campaign.

What an amazing ad! Now I'll always associate IE with vomit!

private browsing in safari 4? i never touch IE, either safari or mozilla

Shown in prime dinner time slots, I can just imagine how many people will really puke all over their laptop, husband or children.

... I am guessing more suited to European and Australasian audiences ;-)

Isn't that Dean whats-his-name (i.e. Superman) from the Lois and Clark superman TV show 10+ years ago (the one where Terri Hatcher was Lois)

Dean Cain? Yup it is.

Actually this is pretty good for a MS ad. It almost made me laugh.

It's a brilliant idea to come up with this ad while safari has had the private browsing feature for a long long time and just when firefox releases 3.5 which also has the feature...

now the three most used internetbrowsers all have the private browsing feature Microsoft comes with the commercial.......

Yes, kinda reminds me of a cut/copy/paste ad I saw recently which was coined as "remarkable"

According to CNET, this is not the work of Crispen Porter Bogus. It was created by Bradley and Montgomery, who also did the "Mojave Experiment."

The name is Crispin Porter + Bogusky. And no, it's not their work..

What was that web address again

"harry.........." LOL
:D

As a note, private browsing is good to use for other reasons:
1 you don't want your quest for information to clutter your history
2 you think it's ridiculous every website insists on giving you dozens of cookies
3 you keep cookies turned on for the websites that need it
4 you prefer to be tracked a wee bit less than the cookie venders do
5 you are shopping for someone and don't want them getting a clue
6 you truly are a $#!%^ and you are going to sites you don't want others to know about... but good for you for not subjecting them to it
7 you are testing some sites and this is quicker than clearing the history and cache files every few minutes
8 you think that private browsing keeps people sitting next to you from seeing what's on the screen
9 you use Vidalia or something similar, so you may as well
10 who cares, you wipe the drive and re-install every time after going on the net

But watching this commercial, i'm not sure private browsing would have done him any good if he had just been there, which you know he was. so...

i think this is a viral marketing campaign to promote their page www_dot_browserforthebetter_dot_com

Its all about http://tinyurl.com/la6udu
and http://tinyurl.com/n8oxz5 and the new ie. i think the video an youtube will stay.

From Superman to superpuke in ten years... What a career!

I still don't know, what it's all about, but it's disgusting enough not to care.

OK, I watched it again, it's about the 'Porn-mode' - private browsing feature. Safari had it for a while. In fact, I might be writing these lines by using it, I regularly switch it on for tech blogs, so when I visit porn sites, my MacBook only remembers the filth and whatever else in good in life.
