Orange and T-Mobile prep £200 iPad subsidy!

UK Apple-watchers are excited this morning on reports that Orange and T-Mobile are preparing to offer iPads on a contract for the subsidised price of £200.

O2 recently introduced an Xbox or PlayStation 3 console on contract, now its competing carriers are preparing to offeer a 16GB iPad WiFI + 3G for just £200 to customers signing an 18-24-month contract.

Higher-spec models will also be available, to include the 32GB and 64GB models. The deals will be made available via Everything Everywhere, the joint venture between the two carriers.

(Could these rumors be the fruit of previously rumored discussions in which Apple was said to be figuring out if MacBooks could be sold subsidized via carrier networks?)

A formal announcement is expected to be made later today.
