Google plans Sept 8 event

As expectation of the Google Music service grows, the search giant has despatched invitations to a September 8 press event to sundry US journos, reports claim.  The event will be held at the SF Moma.

The company is simply promising press a peek at its latest technological evolutoin and a chance to check in on the evolution of Google search.

The event is being held at San Francisco’s rather plush Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), inspiring some speculation that the company may plan on introducing improvement to Google Goggles its image-search app.

Not yet available for the iPhone, Goggles is expected to appear later this year. Meanwhile, word on the street continues to claim Apple’s iTunes will face fresh competition from Google’s Music service by Christmas, with a Google team led by Andy Rubin deep in discussion with labels.
