Isn’t there a possibility that the reason why the software fix from Apple is late is because they’re investigating a fix for the whole thing, software-wise?
I mean, changing the bars can’t take this long since I bet Apple’s tech dept is hot on this thing like a teenage couple alone in an empty house.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the software fix really did fix everything…
While I’m on the fence about how Apple should handle the antennae issue, deleting threads in the support forums is corporate lunacy. Do they honestly believe that by deleting threads on their site they somehow quiet the issue? All they do is make themselves look like oppressive assholes while the world is calling them out. Many have called for Apple to “admit” the problem. I’m not sure I’d do that until I understood the problem and had a solution. The fact that the issue has been so widely documented and demonstrated around the web should give Apple some sense of urgency in the matter. Also, I would think that if phones may need to be repaired or replaced, shipping gazillions of them with the defect creates a logistical nightmare for them.
Note to Steve Jobs: Issue a public statement….. “We’re working on it, stayed tuned. In the meantime, stop in at any Apple Store or iPhone outlet and receive a $30 credit towards a bumper or case”.
While I agree apple needs to get their acts together to fix this issue, but you need to educate yourself on the difference between a company’s SUPPORT forum and your typical blog/facebook/twitter/rant forums/etc.
9 to 5 Mac is part of the problem, you keep giving it air time.
Most forums have moderators who watch “trolls”. Sure, the moderator did not exercise it right, but who knows why he or she did it. I am sure that they know this consumer report is a widespread news. So, I think the reason that they did it was not because they try to hide the topic. I am guessing the tone of the topic was getting out of control between users.
