Update: It looks like this may be a generic cost for all pay as you go phones.

We’ve seen enough Apple iPhone patents with front facing cameras to know Apple has been working on video chatting and calling for awhile.

Add to that, the latest 3.2 SDKs have all kinds of video chat buttons floating around.

That’s what makes this little tidbit from O2 so interesting:

O2 are offering free video calls in their new iPhone plans as you can see in the screenshot below.  Free!

AT&T will probably charge $1/minute.

Thats just the standard charges  if you’re outside of you inclusive allowances. ALL contract phone read the same. Good luck with that though.

Rubbish! a) There is no front facing camera in any current iPhone model b) With the next generation iPhone months away, (June?), this is just not going to be announced so early. c) Cannot find any reference to the above on the actual O2 website here in the UK. (Removed perhaps?) My thinks it referred to a non iPhone calling plan and appeared in error.

It’s this part of that web page.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up. That table is standard notation for lots of smartphones on O2′s website. And, I remember seeing this reference to video calling a long long time ago and thinking “hangabout…”.

I am not always so positive about watching the HD video’s in mobile, recently i had an i-phone and i use to browse some of the best video sharing youtube resources and other online video sites like motionbox and i am really amazed with the high resolution and streaming of the video even with low bandwidth i think that really had changed my perception of watching online videos in cell phones.
