Snow Leopard builds - 10A250 is the most recent build while 10A246 is the most recent stable build
Want an update on Snow Leopard (besides torrent information)? We've just gotten word that 10A250 is the most recent build floating around Cupertino while 10A246 is the most recent stable build. Apple will be sending out a big developer seed before the end of the month. At that point, Apple should have an announcement on further developer seeding.

Does it perform better compared to Leopard? I miss the snappiness of Tiger!
is that a joke? leopard is much better on every machine i own, and leopards finder is far superior
No it's not a joke. Why should I? Great to hear that your systems run better with leopard, mine doesn't -.- Try to intall Tiger on a second partition and check out how fast it is. I did...
P.S. My question was directed to someone who has experience with this build of snowleopard.
Leopard is much more faster than Tigeron all INTEL machine i have/had.
If you have slow ram or a PPC mac, it could be a little sluggish compared to Tiger... Overall we can say it is faster.
I'm interested to understand the mechanisms you think are responsible for slower RAM on a machine making Tiger run faster than Leopard, when faster RAM makes Leopard run faster than Tiger. Sounds like b*llshit to me, but I wait to be enlightened.
i just want more support for windows networking. here at school everyone (except for a few people myself included) has a windows machine and we run a windows server. It was a pain in the butt to try and get the printers mapped on the network. i guess it is also windows' fault for not making things easy, but anything and everything that Apple puts in Snow Leopard is something i'll be waiting for.
I've always been impressed about how easy it was to get windows printers working on the mac, it might be a peculiarity of your network
Basic every scool have problem with share printers.
I have tried to add network priter on 2 university and one high school.
And all the places it has been tricky, no matter if you were on a Mac, Windows or Linux machine
Sometimes the system admin added some extra security that I have a feeling works on his laptop, and everyone that do not have that model is fucked.
Sometimes there is a look up, to see if you as a user have the rigths to use that WiFi spot, to acces that part of the network, to acces the printer in that building, and if you have the right to print.
Plus it then log all your printing, and count how many prints you have made.
And some how there is allways something, somewhere that mess up

My aging powerbook has been running very slowly recently, so I decided to wipe the HD, remove Leopard and re-install Tiger. Can't be done. At least with what I know. I guess there are changes to the firmware that make it impossible.
So I reinstalled Leopard and put in all the updates.
The PowerBook flies!
I would say that it's faster than Tiger was.
Dave,
I tried using Leo on my aging PB4, it was clearly more sluggish, so sluggish actually that I decided to stay on Tiger.
XBench showed me clearly that my impression was right.

Leopard loping lazily? If possible, try adding more RAM.
