Mac OS X 10.6.2 set to ship as latest dev beta seems bug-free
Apple developers are currently testing the latest pre-release beta, Mac OS X 10.6.2, and the good news is the software appears relatively bug-free, suggesting it may ship imminently.
There’s two big reasons Mac users are waiting for the new update to ship: Number one, it is required in order to use a Magic Mouse; Number two: it reportedly patches the dreaded Guest account data-munching bug that has caused such distress.
Apple conceded the existence of that bug earlier last week, after multiple reports complained of its existence.
As reported by OS X Brazil, (and reported earlier by MacRumors) developer build, Mac OS X 10.6.2 Build 10C531 fixes the one outstanding issue related to Image Capture mentioned in the previous build (10C527f), as well as half a dozen other problems related to ColorSync, Dock crashes, GraphicsDrivers, and QuartzCore. Build 10C531 lists no known issues, although this may not be a clue that the development is wrapping up.
The site also published the seed notes for the release, elements of which we have republished here:

Can anyone confirm if this fixes the backlit and white balance issues concerning 9cc2 screens in the current 13" MBPs?
Hope it fixes the crashes in Mail, PS, Safari and others that thousands have been talking about. Surprised it hasn't been discussed here.
in the meanwhile you may have a look at this: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10342001#10342001 as long as you do not need filesharing to your network, it solved my crashing problems at all
10.6.2 is not required to use Magic mouse... it just has build in functionality for it, as opposed to downloading one from the web...
"Mac OS X 10.6.2 set to ship as latest dev beta seems bug-free". The word "seems" should've been on bold. Bug free OS -> never going to happen.
I hope it will fixe the sound setting issue on my MacPro (early 09 version)
I hope this fixes the freezing issue many of us iMac owners are having caused by graphics, assuming it's even fixable via a software update.
Everybody has their pet "bug" that they just know everybody else has, Apple knows about, but is intentionally refusing to fix. It is absolutely hilarious to read these posts. Oh, and those who don't have the issue described, well, they're just "lucky". Mac users are a strange lot indeed.
I can't speak for others but nowhere did I ever claim "EVERYBODY ELSE" has the same problem I do nor did I ever claim Apple is or is not aware of it.
However, the problem I am having is hardly "rare". Just run a quick search and you will discover that it plagues many (although not a majority) of iMac owners.

And yes, if you have a computer, or any piece of complex electronic equipment, and has never had any problems, you ARE lucky.
